"Today, I call on all people, and especially Catholics, to redouble our commitment to caring for women, children and families so that abortion is not only illegal, but unthinkable."

WALKING WITH MOMS IN NEED
Walking with Moms in Need is a national initiative of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to help parishes better support and accompany pregnant and parenting women. Joining in this initiative, parishes across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati are embarking on a Year of Service to assess, expand and communicate resources to moms in need in our communities. As Pope Francis reminds us, our parishes are called to be “islands of mercy in the midst of a sea of indifference.”

Begun in 1927, St. Mary of the Woods promotes the ideals of Christian community through the recognition that each person is given the manifestation of the Spirit of the common good.
We believe in fostering spiritual growth through scripture, the sacraments and through the use of each person's gifts in our family.
One Big Family
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is beginning a new phase of planning for the future. The goal is to help our parishes to be 'Beacons of Light' that are vibrant and effective in bringing the Gospel to the world.

Sounds strange, doesn’t it? Yet this is what the Holy Father has called. In its simplest form, synodality represents a collaborative approach by all the people of God to address a particular issue for which the Holy Father seeks input. For this synod, he wants to hear from everyone on how the whole Church (not only the bishops and priests) can journey together in
bringing the gospel message to the world. To address this “synodal” approach, he has called for all dioceses in the world to hold local consultative meetings to discuss this topic.

Parish Council Update:
As of July 1st, there will be a new combined parish council for St. Mary of the Woods and St. Patrick churches. The purpose of the combined council is to streamline the administration for our pastor with the implementation of Beacons of Light. With six parishes, it would not be helpful for our pastor to work with six separate councils. The combined council will have six representatives from each parish. Only the six members from each parish will vote on business specific to that parish. All twelve members will vote on business that impacts both parishes.
Members from St. Patrick include; Lisa Brandel, Adrienne Dearwester, Sara Marcinko, Noah Stolly, Pat Tynan, and Judy Weiser.
Members from St. Mary of the Woods include; Shawn Bihn, Karen Burgel, Derreck Dillon, Dale Motzko, Barb Ternasky, and Renee Winner
